God Bless America

Wednesday, 12. May 2010 9:50

We often pray for God to bless America.  What do you think a blessing is?  Is it good economic time?  Is it a new car, raise in pay, a super good deal?  A married couple have a new baby and at 6 weeks take the child for it’s first drs. visit.  Before leaving the office the baby is stabbed in the fanny and given a shot.  Blessing?  The baby doesn’t think so.  But without it a number of diseases could beset this little bundle of joy.  The shot is for the babies own good.  God Bless America?  Is it a Katrina driving and/or drawing some people to God  or good economic times and all going to Hell?  A flat tire or missed appointment or the accident you would have been involved in that doesn’t happen?

How would you?

Tuesday, 6. May 2008 21:12

Try to imagine yourself 2000 years ago. If you knew only what was known about things that were around at that time, how would you describe a meteour or a helicopter. 2000 years ago there were no cars, airplanes or other mechanical things.
What do you suppose John was describing in Rev. 8:8? How about Rev. 9:7?
I’ve thought of this and don’t know how I would describe these things.

Now how about this?

Monday, 14. April 2008 11:15

In Romans 8:22 Paul wrote “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” Could this be why there are so many things happening in this groaning of the earth. I’m thinking of the unusual weather, in floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.
Jesus speaking of the end times, in Matthew 24:7 said “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places”. Mark 13:8 and Luke 21:11 also state these words from Jesus..

What do you think?

Tuesday, 4. March 2008 11:50

The Bible tells us that during the tribulation prices will be really high. Today I drove by a gas station I usually trade at and saw that gas was up another .05 cents a gallon. When you see this, does it make you think of how people will just accept higher prices? Do you think of how fragile our economy is? And, that it is interwoven with the economy of every other country.

Noah

Wednesday, 16. May 2007 9:39

Genesis 6:28-30 tells us that after Noah was born Lamech, his father, had other children both sons and daughters. I wonder if Noah’s siblings also laughted at the Ark. I wonder if God gave the time after Noah and his family entered the Ark for his siblings to enter also. The flood, when the door was shut and the rain started, must have caused much heartache for Noah. Genesis 8: 16 relates that the Lord shut them in, suppose Noah would have waited longer for his siblings?

Yet to Come?

Monday, 26. March 2007 9:41

I’ve been thinking about how things will be in the future. One of the thoughts have been about the economy after Jesus takes His followers out of the world. Because many of us owe on our homes, cars, etc. I imagine the beginning of chaos will be with the banks and lenders.
I still owe on my home.

Moses’ Prayer

Thursday, 4. January 2007 9:29

Exodus 33:12-13
I seldom think of prayers that Moses made, however I recently purchased an Amplified Bible and have been reading it. This prayer really touched my heart.
Verse 12 is an introduction but beginning in verse 13 Moses speaking to God. “Now therefore, I pray you, if I have found favor in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You, (progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with You, perceiving and recognizing and understanding more strongly and clearly), and that I may find favor in Your sight.”
WOW!

A thought

Wednesday, 9. August 2006 9:36

Have you ever wondered where the ancient cities and their building came from? Many have. It seems there are 3 different ideas. Aliens from outer space, the cave man, and man shortly after the creation. If these things were built by aliens where did they go and why did they not leave us a better record? If they were built by cave man or early man where did they get the intelligence to do this? We have a difficult time figuring how it could have been done so well without our modern tools. However if it was shortly after the creation and God created man perfect, He also gave them great intelligence and they must have know a lot of things that we have figured out in the last couple hundred years or less. I prefer to think that man was created with great intelligence and we regressed and have only lately figured out how to do some of these things.

Innocent wonder

Tuesday, 25. April 2006 19:48

Have you ever noticed the wide eyed, innocent look of wonder in a baby’s eyes? The Bible states in I Corinthians 2:9; But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. Do you suppose that we will be like innocent children in awe and wonder when we see God and what he has prepared for us?

How about you?

Saturday, 22. April 2006 20:35

We often refer to Job in a comment as “having the patience of Job”. We acknowledge that Job suffered some real trials. When Job lost everything he made the comment, “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, Blesed be the name of the Lord.” When we have difficult times and/or trials what are our comments? I offer that the first comment is generally, “why me?”. Or our comments may be “Why is God punishing me?”
Here is a thought. I have just found my tire is flat and I have a real need to be someplace. Is this God punishing me or is it God protecting me from some problem down the road and a slight delay will keep me from being hurt?
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
