What do you think?

Thursday, 17. June 2010 18:15

This is a year when a few candidates will be voted on.  I am really disgusted with the career politicians.  They promise much but do little, other than for themselves.  I thought I had found a business man running in my state and was thrilled to hear of him.  Sadley he is also thinking only of himself and his pocketbook.  I now wonder if there are any honest candidates who have the best interests of the common people in mind.

Cain??

Tuesday, 25. May 2010 20:41

After Cain killed Abel God confronted him with what he had done.  In Genesis 4: 11-12 God told Cain; “Now you are cursed from the earth which has opened her mouth to  receive your brother’s blood from your hand.  When you till the ground it will not yield to you her strength.  A fugitive and vagabond  you shall be in the earth”.

Cain’s response was, “My punishment is greater than I can bear”.

Cain was sent away from his parents and siblings.  The record is that he took only his wife and it also tells the names of his sons that she bore him.

Did Cain miss his parents and brothers and sisters?  Did he have his moments of longing to see and speak to them, perhaps to talk over the days work?

Are we heart sick when there are problems in our own family and we cannot work out a remedy for the hurt?

God Bless America

Wednesday, 12. May 2010 9:50

We often pray for God to bless America.  What do you think a blessing is?  Is it good economic time?  Is it a new car, raise in pay, a super good deal?  A married couple have a new baby and at 6 weeks take the child for it’s first drs. visit.  Before leaving the office the baby is stabbed in the fanny and given a shot.  Blessing?  The baby doesn’t think so.  But without it a number of diseases could beset this little bundle of joy.  The shot is for the babies own good.  God Bless America?  Is it a Katrina driving and/or drawing some people to God  or good economic times and all going to Hell?  A flat tire or missed appointment or the accident you would have been involved in that doesn’t happen?

How Readest Thou?

Saturday, 13. March 2010 6:58

Recently a lady said the Bible stated a certain thing, she opened her Bible and read a verse to me. Her comment was, “There it is, right in the Bible!”. What she red didn’t say what she had stated and quickly I remembered the scripture of Luke 10: 26. A lawmaker asked Jesus a question question. Jesus replied, “What is written in the law? How readest thou?” KJV That question is still pertinent today. How do I understand a certain scripture, how does it read to me.

This is my new look.  I’ll most likely make plenty of mistakes as I work on this new format.  Please be patience with me.  My computer skills are almost non-existent.  Mom

Susan Boyle

Monday, 20. April 2009 5:52

I have watched/listened to her entry in the British competition many times.

I saw a very attractive middle aged lady who, after some time, got the courage to go on a public stage to perform. She knew she could have been laughed off stage. In one news clip she said she began singing at 12 and wanted to be a professional singer. For 35 years she has had her dream that has been set aside for various reasons and this may be her only chance to achieve her dream.

She must have spent hours of practice and hoping, and used great care in her musical selection. Her choice in music was really “Her song” and she sang from her heart. Skill and education can make a good singer, but she sang from her heart and it showed. It gives something that cannot be caught with education and/or skill.

I hope for her that she is offered a great contract by a music studio and her cd’s can shortly be purchased. I intend to own some of them. She has a gift that these younger professionals cannot not hope to have with their lights and movement to distract the listener.

Last Days?

Sunday, 1. March 2009 8:30

When the prophet in Deut. 21:23 foretold, saying, “cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree” the Israelites knew this referred to the Messiah. However, they did not understand the kind of death the Messiah would experience or even that He would die.

Rev. 13:16-17 is telling about something that will happen in the final days. It states that everyone will need a mark to buy or sell. Because of our present economy and the government “bail-out” the news media has reported that part of the bail-out money has gone to banks and that the government will be owning part of those banks. Government owned and/or run banks are a short step to control of the population. With computer chips being implanted in pets so that lost pets can be returned to their owners and GPS systems available, technology has now provided the means to control people in their buying and selling and also keep track of where they are.

I believe we are in the final days. What do you think?

Our Symbol

Wednesday, 18. February 2009 11:51

Today I saw a pair of eagles flying and gliding above me. My first thought was that they were majestic and a fine symbol of our nation. However they are also predators, not only killing but eating smaller and weaker things. Are we like that?

The Dream

Thursday, 5. February 2009 10:01

I am nearer to 80 years old than 70, so this began many years ago. This is a true event in my life.
I was raised by a single Mom. We lived out in the country and did not have a car. I don’t remember my mother reading the Bible to me or telling me Bible stories. We did not go to church as it was too far to walk. One day when I was in the third grade some of the other children came to school and said the world was going to end at noon. They seemed happy and excited about this, I was terrified. They lived in town and could go to church and certainly must be right with God. I knew I was not. I was so happy when noon passed and nothing happended.
After this I had the dream. Jesus came and was taking people to heaven. He did not come all the way to the ground, but was up in the air. And people were flying up to meet Him, but not everyone was going. Those not going, which included me, were reaching up to Him, but we remained where we were. Sometimes I was standing on the ground and sometimes I was in the ground. I always woke up, so frightened, but I didn’t know what to do to make things right between myself and Jesus.
Time passed with the dream reaccuring from time to time. Always the same. I married and worked in my husband’s business. One day a patron came in and started to share Jesus with me. He said he didn’t know why he was doing this, but he understood that I was very interested. He told me that God loved me and wanted things right between us. He said Jesus had taken my sins and died for me, and that if I would pray amd acknowledge my sins, and ask God to forgive me that He would not only forgive me, but would someday take me to Heaven to be with Him. I did this, I did not experience a light as Paul did and have found out since then my experience is most common, generally we just feel so unburdened. But God did forgive me and changed my life. Since asking God to forgive me and asking Jesus into my life I have on occasion still had the dream, but now I am always going. I still wake up when I have the dream, but now it is with great joy.
The Bible tells us we will have dreams. Everything the patron told me was true and scripture affirms it. That Jesus comes and takes some people to Heaven and not others is true, also that He does not touch the earth at this time is also true according to scripture.
If you want things right between you and God, and you acknowledge your sins, go to God in prayer and ask. He sent Jesus to die for you. God loves you and has already demonstrated His love for you. He will forgive you, He wants things right between you and Himself.

Fairy Flowers

Monday, 17. November 2008 10:44

I am a school crossing gurard in Florida. The job requres that I be at a certain location for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. At the morning location I cross few children and have a large amount of waiting time. In the afternoon the first 1/2 hour is waiting for school to let out and then 20 minutes of work. I use the time to walk or pace back and forth. I have noticed in the weeds beside the sidewalk some very tiny flowers. Each bloom is under 1/8 of an inch. They are beautiful. They are blue, dark red, yellow, yellow with a dark center, white and white with a dark center. They have rows of petals, or 4 petals up to a larger number. As I have thought about these tiny blooms I have also thought of the Magnolia bloom, along with the hibiscus and angle tumpet blooms which may measure up to seven inches. As my mediatation I thought of the blooms in trees and the multitude of types of trees.
What an Awesome God we have, to create such variety for us to explore!
